New Year, New Classroom
The new year has seen us go on to other classes. Mrs V is now teaching grade 1/2V and we have been scattered into various classes with a common name of 3/4. Log onto Mrs V's new classroom and you will probably find us in her menu when she creates them. In the meantime have a good year.

Healthy Wednesday
We had a healthy Wednesday yesterday. The first thing we did when we went to school was take a nice long walk around the Kerrimuir streets. It took us around 20 minutes. A very nice walk. Mrs V said we should do this everyday.
We all brought a healthy snack to share with everyone at morning recess. There was almonds, bananas, apples, oranges, celery, cucumber, pear, plums and lots of other stuff. We laid it out and had a picnic in our classroom. Everybody brought their snack cut up and in a recyclable container.
It was a great day.

Panning For Gold

In the afternoon of the second day went went panning for gold. We took a 20 minute walk along the main road of Warburton. The Yarra River also runs along the other side of the road. We walked for about 20 minutes until we
came to a quiet spot along the river. we worked in groups as there wasn't enough pans to go around. Some children found tiny specks of dust in their pan. It was lovely and cool near the water. We stayed for about 45minutes then we walked back. It was nice walking because we saw the different types of houses and the lovely gardens. Mr Kelly took lots of pictures. When we got back it was time for afternoon tea.

Camp Day Two
Today most of the boys got up early in the morning it was cold it. Some of the boys woke Ms.V up she was cross she needs her beauty sleep. For breakfast the campers had cereal then they had toast and Yummy pancakes. After breakfast we did activities one of them was the scary flying fox. The flying fox is a cable strung between two trees then you get into a harness and glide from one tree to another. When you hit the tyre at the end it was scary because you think you're going to hit the tree. When I went on I did a trick called 'no hands' after that I did another trick 'tweety bird' its the opposite of no hands. After the activities we had afternoon tea it was great.

Camping

We have just come back from three wonderful days at camping. We went to Arrabri Lodge which is about 1 and a half hours drive away. It is in Warburton, East of Melbourne a very beautiful spot. We were surrounded by mountains and there was bush all around us. They had lots of animals at the lodge, a donkey, pony and lots of sheep. They also had goats, chooks and gorgeous guinea pigs. Some of us got to hold them. We went there by bus. We went with all the grade threes and the grade fours.Everyone was so excited. When we arrived Don
our camp supervisor was waiting for us. They helped us move into our cabins. We had our first camp meeting where Don told us all the camp rules. Then we had a tour of the facilities and we looked at all the things we could do. On the first day we had to take our lunch. We had a picnic lunch on the lawn area.

The cabins were real cool. They had bunk beds in them except for the teacher's rooms. Everyone wanted a top bunk so we took it in turns to have a top bunk.

TRI Skills

We commenced Tri Skills on Thursday. It was 36 degrees when we went into the multipurpose room. Which is very hot for October. Claudia and Fiona are our teachers. Claudia has been coming to Kerrimuir for many years. They arrive in a big truck, unload all the equipment and set it up for us to use. Each
class has a turn at doing a circuit. This week we focussed on landings. We must remember to always finish our landings with the motorbike pose. We had fun at Tri Skills but we were very tired when we finished. Next week we will be going to Tri Skills on Wednesday.

Back To School
Welcome Back
Today is the first day of term four. The weather was fantastic for assembly. As it is term four it is now compulsary to wear hats when we are out side. (Make mental note: bring Hat.) Mrs V has changed our classro0m around and we are allowed to sit anywhere we like for the moment. Lots of us were able to go away for the holidays. Angus went to Surfers, Mrs V went to Central Australia and Max went to an island off Queensland. The Melbourne show was on over the holidays and those that stayed home went to that and got lots of showbags next to that the movies was the next best thing with "Monster House" topping the list.

Last Day Of term
Today is the last day of term 3 and it
is a very busy one. Firstly we are performing at assembly. Mrs V has been busy doing the final preparations on our costumes. We had made our costumes a while ago but when we tried them on at dress rehersal the skeletons all came off. So Mrs V frantically hotglued them all back on yesterday. She burnt herself with the hotglue gun a couple of times. But she's ok. There were lots of people at assembly and we were
very excited. Mrs V said we did a great job at singing and our dance moves were spot on.It was also "Footy Day' That's when we all dress up in our favourite team colours and have a parade. It is always a very colourful day and everyone gets into the act. After the parade we have tabloid sports. Our footy teams are made up of children from Preps to grade 6. The weather was fantastic, but by lunchtime we were
a bit exhausted. We always have a "Footy Day' lunch which usually consists of a pie or pastie with a milk drink and of cause lots of sauce.
So now it's time to say goodbye to our third term and welcome the Spring holidays.

Safe holidays everyone.

On Monday morning Angus, Liam, Max, Leigh and I went to the district athlectics to represent Kerrimuir with the grades 4,5 and 6. The district athletics is when you do sports with other schools. I was in the tunnel ball race and we came 2nd. There was a lot of people there. When I went to the toilet somebody was ill all over the floor. It was a bit smelly. Our school came fifth out of five schools. I was glad to get back to school because it was tiring cheering for your team. It was good to come back to school and talk to my friends I had a good day.

I didn't get time to find anything. On Friday Micheal, Gavin, Angus and Liam did a performance and they did a comedy show. Liam did a very funny comedy act and Micheal, Gavin and Angus did a funny comedy act too. Mrs V was also away but the CRT let us do free time in the afternoon.

Dem Bones

Today we did jogging. We are doing jogging for fitness. We all have one goal in jogging. To get to Geelong. We have stuck up a chart in our class room on how much progress we have made since we started. We also continued our joke books. Every week we pull a joke out of a jar. Then we write it down and give it to Mrs V. Every one must submit a joke into the jar. In maths today we were studying fractions. Some were easy, but some of th
em were pretty hard. Such as: 5/8+3/4. I got it right though. Next week we are peforming a song called 'Dem Bones' at assembly. But I will be on holidays then. I will be up at the Gold Coast. Anyway, today we made our costumes for it, a black garbage bag with paper bones stuck on. At lunch time today, we played cricket. My opponents were all out for 22. I was first up for my team and I scored 12 runs. Then the bell went. We agreed that it was a draw. Posted by Max

Yimin's Day
Today in the morning at school we did an english worksheet, most people didn 't finish it but I finished the worksheet just in time. Then after play we went to Japanese. At Japanese we watched a video called''Spirit Away''. We only watched half of it because we didn 't have enough time to watch the whole thing. After Japanese we went to Computers. In Computers we did our Digital Portfolios. Most people had done about 6 to 9 slides. Our Computer teacher
is called Mr. Chaffer. When we finished Computers we had lunch. For lunch I had a cheese sandwich. After lunch we had play. I played with my friends called Katie, Bethany, Alice and Ruby. We played Spiderwick. Spiderwick is a game where somebody is a goblin and the rest are children. The goblin has to try and capture the children. Then the bell went so we went back into the classroom. Me, Katie and Max couldn 't go back to our classroom because we had to go to Mr. Fury for mathamatics. Mathamatics is easy in the classroom but it's challanging with with Mr. Fury. After maths with Mr. Fury we went back to the classroom. Our teacher Mrs. V made us three do a bit more of maths. The maths was really easy. Then when we finished we packed up and went home. It was a good day!!!Posted by Yimin
